Description

We 2-262 was discovered by Rainer Weinberger on the Palomar Observatory Sky Survey plates, and was included by Weinberger in his 1977 paper listing 335 objects designated as possible, probable or true planetary nebulae. In 2008 David Frew concluded that it was merely an HII region.  Later observations showed it to be a bright rimmed globule.
